Eurofins DiscoverX Blk Human Protein, Active
Description
Activation of B cells by various ligands is accompanied by activation of src-family protein tyrosine kinases. Cross-linking of the B-cell receptor leads to the activation of src-family PTKs BLK (B-cell lymphocyte kinase), Fyn, and Lyn. Specific B and T cell progenitor subsets are preferentially susceptible to transformation by BLK and suggest a role for BLK in the control of proliferation during B cell development. BLK protein tyrosine kinase is found primarily in hematopoietic cells and inhibitors may be of therapeutic use in the treatment of B cell lymphoma.
GenBank NM_001715. The recombinant protein contains one residue which is in conflict with NM_001715. This is M287V and is reported inGenBank S76617 and BC007371.
