Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

AA Sequence of recombinant protein: MANVAENSSS DQRQACKKHE LYVSFRDLGW QDWIIAPEGY AAYYCEGECA FPLNSYMNAT NHAIVQTLVH FINPETVPKP CCAPTQLNAI SVLYFDDSSN VILKKYRNMV VRACGCH. Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human BMP-7. Anti-Human BMP-7-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human BMP-7 matrix. Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human BMP-7 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human BMP-7 (500-P198Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human BMP-7. Western Blot: To detect Human BMP-7 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human BMP-7 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

The bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are a family of secreted signaling molecules that can induce ectopic bone growth. Many BMPs are part of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGFB) superfamily. BMPs were originally identified by an ability of demineralized bone extract to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo in an extra skeletal site. Based on its expression early in embryogenesis, BMP7 has a proposed role in early development. In addition, the fact that BMP7 is closely related to BMP5 and BMP6 has lead to speculation of possible bone inductive activity.
