Description

Factor I, a serine protease, is a regulatory component of both the alternative and the classical complement pathway. Factor I is synthesized as a single chain precursor of 88 kDa, processed to yield the acitve form, composed of two disulfide-linked chains, the a-chain (50 kDa) and the beta-chain (38 kDa). Plasma concentration is 35 ug/ml.
