EGF Receptor Mouse anti-Human, Brilliant Violet 786, Clone: EGFR.1, BD Optibuild™

Description

The EGFR.1 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGF-R). The EGF-R is a transmembrane glycoprotein of approximately 170 kDa that is expressed on most cells. It consists of a glycosylated extracellular domain which binds to epidermal growth factor (EGF), a transmembrane domain, and an intracellular domain with tyrosine-kinase activity essential for signal transduction. The EGF-R plays an important role in the growth and differentiation of many cellular types. Transforming growth factorα(TGFα), vaccinia virus growth factor, and related growth factors can also bind to and signal through the EGF-R.

The antibody was conjugated to BD Horizon™ BV786 which is part of the BD Horizon Brilliant™ Violet family of dyes. This dye is a tandem fluorochrome of BD Horizon BV421 with an Ex Max of 405nm and an acceptor dye with an Em Max at 786nm. BD Horizon BV786 can be excited by the violet laser and detected in a filter used to detect Cy™7-like dyes (eg, 780/60nm filter). BV786 is a tandem fluorochrome of BD Horizon BV421 and an acceptor dye with an emission maximum at 786 nm. BV786 offers a bright choice for the 6th detector off the violet laser.
