Invitrogen™ FK506 Monoclonal Antibody (FK1)

Description
This antibody recognizes conjugated and non-conjugated FK-506 with apparent dissociation constant Kd=10^9M.
Tacrolimus is a macrolide isolated from the culture broth of a strain of Streptomyces tsukubaensis that has strong immunosuppressive activity in vivo and prevents the activation of T-lymphocytes in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation in vitro. Tacrolimus binds to the FKBP-12 protein and forms a complex with calcium-dependent proteins, thereby inhibiting calcineurin phosphatase activity and resulting in decreased cytokine production. Tacrolimus possesses similar immunosuppressive properties to cyclosporine, but is more potent. [National Center for Biotechnology Information. PubChem Compound Database; CID=445643].
