Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (96%), Rat (96%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-67443 (PA5-67443. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

GABRA5 is a part of GABA, a major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian brain where it acts at GABA-A receptors, which are ligand-gated chloride channels. Chloride conductance of these channels can be modulated by agents such as benzodiazepines that bind to the GABA-A receptor. At least 16 distinct subunits of GABA-A receptors have been identified. Transcript variants utilizing three different alternative non-coding first exons have been described.
