Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (89%), Rat (89%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-84264 (PA5-84264. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

WNK is a serine/threonine kinase that plays an important role in the regulation of electrolyte homeostasis, cell signaling, survival, and proliferation. Also, acts as an activator and inhibitor of sodium-coupled chloride cotransporters and potassium-coupled chloride cotransporters respectively. Activates SCNN1A, SCNN1B, SCNN1D, and SGK1. WNK localizes to a segment of kidney involved in salt, potassium, and pH homeostasis, the distal nephron. Mutations in the WNK gene result in Pseudohypaldosteronism and Neuropathy.
