Macherey-Nagel™ HYDRODEX™ β-TBDAc Capillary Columns for GC
Shop All Macherey-Nagel ProductsDescription
A major advantage of HYDRODEX columns are that many compounds can be analyzed without derivatization. However, for certain substances, enantioselectivity can be favorably influenced by formation of derivatives. Regioselective derivatization of the hydroxyl groups leads to phases with varying enantioselectivity, which are well suited for GC enantiomer analyses.
It is not possible to make a general prediction about which HYDRODEX™ phase could solve a given separation task. Even for compounds with small structural differences or within homologous series, the enantiodifferentiation can be quite different.
- Base material: cyclic oligosaccharides consisting of seven β-cyclodextrin glucose units bonded through α-1,4-linkages
- heptakis-(2,3-di-O-acetyl-6-O-t-butyldimethylsilyl)-β-cyclodextrin
- Ligands: R2=R3=acetyl, R6=t-butyldimethylsilyl; n=2
- Due to the high melting point of the phases, they are diluted with optimized polysiloxanes
- Recommended for alcohols, esters, ketones, aldehydes, δ-lactones
