  • Prepared from highly pure, phenol/chloroform-extracted DNA and DNase-free, RNase-free (DEPC-treated), distilled, deionized water
  • DNA is sheared to average size of ≤2,000 bp
  • Concentration is adjusted to 10 mg/mL
  • Used to block nonspecific attachment of probe to surface of membrane
