Preparation: Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human MIP-5 (CCL15). Anti-Human MIP-5 (CCL15)-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human MIP-5 (CCL15) matrix. Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human MIP-5 (CCL15) by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human MIP-5 (CCL15) (500-P123GBt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human MIP-5 (CCL15). Western Blot: To detect Human MIP-5 (CCL15) by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human MIP-5 (CCL15) is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

This gene is located in a cluster of similar genes in the same region of chromosome 17. These genes encode CC cytokines, which are secreted proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The product of this gene is chemotactic for T cells and monocytes, and acts through C-C chemokine receptor type 1 (CCR1). The proprotein is further processed into numerous smaller functional peptides. Naturally-occurring readthrough transcripts occur from this gene into the downstream gene, CCL14 (chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 14).
