Description

Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

~45% identity with Neuroligin-1, -2 and -3. 1 μg/mL of MA5-45694 was sufficient for detection of Neuroligin 4 in 20 μg of mouse brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 125-130kDa. Does not cross-react with other Neuroligins. This antibody was formerly sold as clone S98-7.

Neuroligin-4, X linked (also known as NLGN4X, NLGN4, Neuroligin-4, and Neuroligin 4X) is a postsynaptic cell-adhesion molecule that interacts with presynaptic cell-surface neurexins. These interactions bridge together the synaptic cleft and have an essential role in synaptic transmissions between neurons. There are 5 neuroligin genes in humans: NLGN1, NLGN2, NLGN3, NLGN4X, and NLGN4Y. Mutations in NLGN3 and NLGN4X are linked to Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The expression of neuroligin-4, X-linked has been reported on human pluripotent stem cells.
