Invitrogen™ Treponema pallidum p47 Monoclonal Antibody (2127)

Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Brand: Invitrogen™ MA547495
Description
Specificity: Specific for p47 of T. pallidum. Does not stain the entire bacterial cell (ICC/IF). Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody which has been purified from ascites fluid by protein A chromatography. The final preparation is formulated to a protein concentration of 100 μg/mL in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2 and contains 0.1% sodium azide. Each vial contains 1.0 mL. This product contains no stabilizing proteins and should be stored at 4C until ready for use. Working dilution must be determined by the user. Suggested starting ranges are 1:10-1:50 for ICC/IF and 1:20-1:200. for ELISA.
Treponema pallidum is a gram-negative spirochaete bacterium and is considered to be metabolically crippled. There are at least four known subspecies: T. pallidum pallidum, T. pallidum pertenue, T. pallidum carateum and T. pallidum endemicum. The helical structure of T. pallidum pallidum allows it to move in a corkscrew motion through viscous mediums such as mucus. Treponema pallidum subsp. pallidum has one of the smallest bacterial genomes at 1.14 million base pairs (Mb) and has limited metabolic capabilities, reflecting its adaptation through genome reduction to the rich environment of mammalian tissue.
