Applications
The Schiff bases(2-Benzoylpyridine ) and copper(II) complexes display moderate antifungal activities. 2-Benzoylpyridine is an aromatic substituent which has selective antiproliferative effects, with the majority having greater antineoplastic activity. Reaction of 2-benzoylpyridine N(4)-phenyl thiosemicarbazone (HL) with a variety of copper salts yielded a series of copper(II) complexes of the type [CuLX]. Complexes of 2-benzoylpyridine thiosemicarbazone (H2Bz4DH) as well as of its N(4)-methyl (H2Bz4Me) and N(4)-phenyl (H2Bz4Ph) analogues with iron(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) were characterized by a variety of spectroscopic techniques.
Solubility
Soluble in methanol. Insoluble in water.

Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Store away from strong oxidizing agents.
