Macherey-Nagel™ NucleoSpin™ DNA Trace Bone Buffer Set

NucleoSpin™ DNA Trace is designed for the preparation of highly pure genomic DNA from small amounts of any tissue, cell or forensic sample. The NucleoSpin™ funnel columns (NucleoSpin™ DNA Trace F columns) included in the kit are ideally suited for collecting traces of nucleic acids from large volumes. The optimised shape of the NucleoSpin™ funnel columns allows the combination of large volume capacity and small diameter of the binding membrane. The DNA isolated by NucleoSpin™ DNA Trace is ready to use for common downstream applications like PCR*, real time PCR* or other enzymatic reactions. The silica membrane is optimised for the reversible binding of very small quantities of nucleic acids from dilute samples and DNA amounts in the nanogram range can be processed with high recovery. The membrane can also bind up to 25μg of genomic DNA. The small diameter of the silica membrane allows elution volumes as low as 50μL to 100μL of low-salt buffer or water leading to highly enriched samples. 8 to 12 NucleoSpin™ funnel columns can be processed in parallel depending on the centrifuge rotor used. The risk of cross contamination is eliminated by placing the funnel columns into 50 mL polyethylene tubes which can be closed with screw caps, resulting in self contained systems. For elution, 0.5mL elution tubes are fitted directly to the outlet of the funnel columns. For isolation of genomic DNA from human bones additional buffers are necessary – the customised NucleoSpin™ DNA Trace Bone buffer set is required.
